When I first came to Suzanne and Philippe's garden in Garidech, in the North East of Toulouse, in October 2017, I hadn't imagined this garden would become a pivotal place for political experiments and prototyping. I received a warm welcome and enjoyed a few pleasant days with very nice and clever people.
When I came back in April 2018, I realized the great potential not only of the place but of all the persons this house was gathering together: Suzanne and Philippe, its inhabitants, Bernard, the amazing neighbour I plan to prototype future mobile houses with, and their circle of friends and acquaintances. In one place, I had found not only a refuge but also a pool of people to pull me upwards.
From the fall of 2018 onwards, I will be regularly in Garidech, near Toulouse, and Galey in Ariège, where Bernard offers me a wonderful place to work at the top of Col de la Hourque.
In these two places, I'm currently developing mutual aid projects to create small areas of economic and political freedom (inspired by the Toulouse Integral Cooperative project), political workshops and prototyping to get rid of oil, downsize and change more radically my routines of living.
